Super creamy and colourful turmeric ginger oats topped with fruits is the perfect balance of healthy fats. This one is topped with blueberries – an antioxidant-rich and inflammation-busting breakfast addition, which also looks pretty and tastes great! Add toasted almonds or even more cooked apples to the oats for extra fibre and satiety! so yum x
1/2 cup oats
1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds (or chia seeds)
Almond milk or water to cover
1 teaspoon cinnamon or a toothpick of doTERRA cinnamon essential oil
Knob fresh ginger or a drop of doTERRA ginger essential oil
1 teaspoon turmeric or a drop of doTERRA turmeric essential oil
Optional: fruits, seeds, nuts...dollop of coconut yogurt
Add oats and flaxseed to pan. Add almond milk or water and simmer for around 5 minutes. Add cinnamon, ginger, turmeric. Simmer for another 3–4 minutes until oats are soft and creamy. When cooked, pour in bowl. Add coconut yogurt, nuts, seeds, almonds. Get creative with your toppings!
ps: always add your essential oils at the end of the cooking.
