Holistic Prevention

Hello beautiful souls, since my last blog, everybody's life has changed RAPIDLY. Around the world, daily life has come to a near-halt as more governments impose the restrictions on movement and issued a "Stay at Home" orders.

For many people, the uncertainty surrounding coronavirus is the hardest thing to handle. We don’t know how exactly we’ll be impacted or how bad things might get. And that makes it all too easy to catastrophes and spiral out into overwhelming dread and panic. But there are many things you can do even in the face of this unique crisis and the most important one is PREVENTION and PREPARATION.

Yes we’re in a time of massive upheaval, the fear is real...There are so many things outside of our control, including how long the pandemic lasts, how other people behave, and what’s going to happen in our communities. That’s a tough thing to accept, and so many of us respond by endlessly searching the Internet for answers and thinking over all the different scenarios that might happen. But as long as we’re focusing on questions with unknowable answers and circumstances outside of our personal control, this strategy will get us nowhere - aside from feeling drained, anxious, and overwhelmed.

I truly believe that there is a blessing in every challenge and this is actually the break that we were waiting for to do to catch up with life, take a breather and just slow down...have more time at home, do more gardening, read that book, sort that paperwork, time to chill, paint, dance, or whatever... I think this is a beautiful opportunity to do it. We need to shift our mindset...instead of I HAVE to stay home, it's I am so LUCKY to be at home.

Yes there is fear.

Yes there is isolation.

Yes there is panic buying.

Yes there is sickness.

Yes there is even death.


They say that in Wuhan after so many years of noise

You can hear the birds again.

They say that after just a few weeks of quiet

The sky is no longer thick with fumes

But blue and grey and clear.

They say that in the streets of Assisi

People are singing to each other

across the empty squares,

keeping their windows open

so that those who are alone

may hear the sounds of family around them.

They say that a hotel in the West of Ireland

Is offering free meals and delivery to the housebound.

Today a young woman I know

is busy spreading fliers with her number

through the neighbourhood

So that the elders may have someone to call on.

Today Churches, Synagogues, Mosques and Temples

are preparing to welcome

and shelter the homeless, the sick, the weary

All over the world people are slowing down and reflecting

All over the world people are looking at their neighbours in a new way

All over the world people are waking up to a new reality

To how big we really are.

To how little control we really have.

To what really matters.

To Love.

So we pray and we remember that

Yes there is fear.

But there does not have to be hate.

Yes there is isolation.

But there does not have to be loneliness.

Yes there is panic buying.

But there does not have to be meanness.

Yes there is sickness.

But there does not have to be disease of the soul

Yes there is even death.

But there can always be a rebirth of love.

Wake to the choices you make as to how to live now.

Today, breathe.

Listen, behind the factory noises of your panic

The birds are singing again

The sky is clearing,

Spring is coming,

And we are always encompassed by Love.

Open the windows of your soul

And though you may not be able

to touch across the empty square,


Isn't that wonderful!

Focus on the things you can control -

I will add to the list...Raising my immunity! When you feel yourself getting caught up in fear of what might happen, try to shift your focus to things you can control. For example, you can’t control how severe the coronavirus outbreak is in your city or town, but you can take steps to reduce your own personal risk (and the risk you’ll unknowingly spread it to others).

Let's focus on boosting our immune system, and here are some of the tips that I do myself on a daily basis. Did you know that 80% of our immune system is in out gut!!

I make this all the time and leave it in the fridge when I need a shot!! It's so yummy but strong indeed. You might want to start with small amount of the ginger and turmeric and then see how it goes...I have a friend who is a steward and when I share this recipe with him, he stopped catching all the nastiness that are on the planes and felt so much better. Give it a go!

Food is so important and so is managing stress to improve your immune system is as important, there are so many ways, to control your stress level, for me one of my many ways is to DANCE, not only to show me self love but also to improve my health and my immune system...I don't dance because I am happy, I am happy because I dance..

We might be physically isolated but we are not socially! So I have decided to run my dance classes online, we are starting tomorrow and you are all invited. In the comfort of your own home, you get to connect, socialise, move your body, shake the bad energy out and replace it with high vibes.

  • Fridays 10 am - Ecstatic dance, freestyle (Zoom)

  • Fridays 11 am Low - Medium Zumba (Zoom)

All classes are 40 min long (except Sofa dancing which is 30 min).

I know financially it is super tough for everyone so I am offering the Thursday and the Friday session free of charge and for other classes it is by donation and with whatever you can afford at the moment. However, if you are really struggling and want to join please feel free to chat to me :)
